2) LIVE 25 YEARS LONGER AND FEEL 25 YEARS YOUNGER WITH VIVIX

Drop 20 pounds by New Year's Eve!

August is an interesting month. It still retains the heat of summer but signals the approaching promise of cooler fall weather. For many school children and university students, August means the start of another school year. For their parents this means the annual rite of purchasing school supplies and seeing older kids off to college (and spending tons of money).

For dieters August rings in the beginning of the PARTY season which doesn’t end until year’s end. For those trying to lose weight (or maintain their present weight), the PARTY season produces tuff waters to navigate. It’s still pool weather for a few more weeks, so looking good in a bikini and skimpy clothes is important. But, we know the hard partying is right around the corner.

Let’s see.... there are upcoming football, basketball and baseball parties complete with chips, beer and other spirits, nachos, hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, wings, etc. I’m talkin’ full on party food.

Throw in all the sweets around Halloween, the pigging out on Thanksgiving, and a repeat performance on Christmas Day. Let’s not leave out holiday office parties and holiday home parties. Then it all peaks with New Year’s Eve. This is the day when we let it all hang out. For dieters, these are dangerous waters to navigate indeed.

For most women, there’s shopping for that “special holiday outfit” (or multiple outfits) to slip into that will dazzle everyone and leave tongues wagging and drool running. Before you call me sexist, yes guys do shop during the holidays, we just don’t get near as crazy as you women do. I don’t think we have a “special outfit” that we’re looking for. We wear what our women tell us to wear. Pssst…guys…I’ll let you in on a little secret…if they look good, we look good. ‘Nuff said!

So, how do we party, lose weight and look fabulous all at the same time? We have a plan and we stick with our plan. August is a great month to start a holiday weight loss plan. Without killing ourselves, we can realistically lose over 20 pounds before the end of the year. What kind of outfit could you slip into on New Year’s Eve if you lost 20 pounds?

You know you’ve been wanting to do something about those extra fat inches. Why not start now and lose them once and for all. Why let another year go by saying, “next year?” Here’s what I suggest:

A - Actually Get Going
Talking about losing weight ain’t the same as actually losing weight. Quit making excuses, quit putting it off and get your butt in gear. Come up with a plan of action and stick with it. If you need a weight loss plan to follow, get on the Cinch plan and start working your plan TODAY!!!

F - Focus, focus, focus
Doing anything worthwhile takes lots of focus. Losing weight is no exception. Without staying focused on the job at hand which is looking and feeling great, it’s very easy to slip back into the bad lifestyle habits that put you into the shape you’re in. Staying focused will help you reach your weight loss goal.

L - Let go of doubt.
You can do this. The basis of losing weight does not involve rocket science. It’s calories in/calories out. If you eat more calories than you burn guess what…you gain weight. Burn more calories than you store…you lose weight. Rocket science it ain’t. A well thought out weight loss plan will not only be nutritionally sound, but will teach you how to keep the weight off permanently. Being on a lifelong diet is no fun! Think sensible lifestyle plan instead.

A - Allow for missteps.
You will screw up your plan at least once. You’ll eat and drink something you shouldn’t along the way. When this happens, get back on your plan immediately. Perfection is great to strive for it’s just hard to achieve. If you screw up, don’t give up. Just know that you will have a setback or two. Don’t let missteps become a habit that eventually sabotage your efforts.

T - Use time as your ally.
There are about 18 weeks until the end of the year (can you believe it?). Even if you only lost 1 pound a week, you could be 18 pounds lighter by New Year’s Eve. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to lose over 20 pounds during this period. Losing 1 pound a week isn’t that hard to do (burn an extra 500 calories per day and lose 1 pound a week). Whatever amount of weight you want to lose is best done in small amounts. 1-2 pounds per week is very doable.

B - Be accountable.
Do what you say you’re gonna do. Remember, you win when you follow through. You’re doing this ultimately for you so be accountable to yourself. This ain’t about anyone else but you. Be accountable for your actions because it’s important to you.

E - Envision the new you.
I know…you don’t believe in all that visualization stuff, right?! Well, many a great goal has been achieved by seeing the end in the beginning. If you constantly picture what you want to look like say by the end of the year, it will help you stay focused and will help you stick with your plan. What do you have to lose anyway by doing this? Maybe just some ugly old fat.

L - Live in the moment.
While it’s very important to picture the body you want to have, don’t live in the future. What you do to your body today will have far reaching consequences down the road. Enjoy each moment you have and use each moment to carry you towards your life goals. Don’t assign the job of starting your weight loss plan to some future date. Choose this moment to start improving your health. Take action now!

L - Let others know.
Let those close to you know that you’re on a weight loss plan. Your true friends will support you and help you stay on track. Letting others know what you intend to do also holds you more accountable. One note of caution, some will try to sabotage your efforts. Your goals are not as important to others as they are to you. Keep this in mind. Hang out with only those who offer you encouragement, support and true friendship.

Y - Yell like hell.
Celebrate even the small accomplishments along the way. This will keep you going over the long haul. When you reach your final goal, really celebrate and treat yourself. Dance a jig, throw back your head and yell like hell. Yeah….it might sound stupid now but it’ll feel real good when you do it. Trust me on this one.

Wacky Fact #1- Korea's poshintang - dog meat soup - is a popular item on summertime menus, despite outcry from other nations. The soup is believed to cure summer heat ailments, improve male virility, and improve women's complexions.

Live 25 Years Longer and Feel 25 Years Younger!

People in the U.S. are living longer today than ever before. Life expectancy is about 78 years. But, does living longer mean living longer with better health? In 2007, The School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, conducted an independent study called the “Landmark Nutritional Supplement Study” which looked at the effects that nutritional supplements had on health.

Some interesting findings were that the typical American between 50-65 is on an average of 7.6 prescription drugs; the typical American over 65 is on an average of 19 prescription drugs! Here’s a big by the way, BY THE WAY…the typical Shaklee person over 65 is on an average of only .6 prescription drugs!

Wacky Fact #2-The world's costliest coffee, at $130 a pound , is called Kopi Luwak. It is in the droppings of a type of marsupial that eats only the very best coffee beans. Plantation workers track them and scoop their precious poop.
