Are You Willing To Do What It Takes To Lose Your Belly Fat?

If you’re serious about reducing belly fat the ugly truth is that it’s going to take time, work, sacrifice and perseverance. Back around 1982 my wife, Mary and a partner owned an aerobics studio next door to a weight lifting gym called Iron Unlimited. I use to pass by that gym everyday on my way to my wife’s place.

Back in high school I had been a pretty decent athlete and enjoyed some success as a varsity wrestler. It had been over 10 years since those days and I had not worked out seriously since then. I had thought about checking out Iron Unlimited several times and finally screwed up the resolve to drop in.

Iron Unlimited was a hard core gym. The walls were covered with pictures of successful bodybuilders both pro and amateur. Pros like Schwarzenegger, Ferrigno, Columbo, and the list goes on and on. I’m talkin’ big, huge massive guys! I remember meeting John Scott its owner for the first time. John was a no-nonsense guy who didn’t mince words.

I remember telling John that I didn’t want to look like “those guys on the wall.” I’ll never forget John laughing and saying, “don’t worry about it because you never will.” I probably was a little insulted because after all-I had been a varsity high school wrestler. By god.

You see, when I first walked inside those gym doors I had no idea what it took to become a bodybuilder. But after years of hard work, perseverance and sacrifice I became a body building champion and had come to understand John completely. He just knew that at first I had no idea of what it took to get the job done.

The point of this little story is this: you can have a lean body with sexy, flat abs if you’re willing to do what has to be done to make it happen. Will it be easy? Probably not. Will it happen quickly? Probably not. Will it involve sacrifice? Yes it will. Will it be worth the effort? You bet’cha.

imagine your belly looking like this

We do not lose fat at the same rate because we don't all share the same hereditary so lose belly fat differently. Then there's the sex difference. Men lose weight easier than women. Ladies, it’s not fair is it?. Why, because men have more muscle and muscle=metabolism which affects belly fat loss. No matter how you slice it, if you want to be lean with no excess belly fat, you’re going to have to do things like: count calories, train with weights, and do cardio exercise. These are the cold hard facts.

For some of you following a plan like Nutrisystems, Weight Watchers or the Cinch Inch Loss Plan will be your best bet at making this happen. For those who don’t want to follow a structured plan, you will have to develop one that will work for you.

One of my female clients talked to me yesterday about still having not lost all her belly fat despite having lost over 20 lbs. My advice to her was keep going. She’s on the right track. She’s doing the right things like lifting weights, doing her cardio exercises, watching her calories and monitoring what she eats.

who's yo' daddy? Again, the cold hard facts about losing fat, especially dangerous belly fat are that it will take time, sacrifice, perseverance and work. There’s no magic pill that will make it happen. But, working together we’ll make this happen in a way that is healthy, and as enjoyable as possible. You can do this and if you’re ready..let’s rock and roll.
